Ham (Syzygium cumini), bark powder, 45g
The ham (or jamelonier) - Syzygium cumini (L.) Skeels - is a tropical tree of the myrtaceae family. Originally from Indo-Malaysia, it is best known in Reunion Island for its small fruits with an acidic and astringent taste. The bark of the ham is particularly recognized for its qualities as an effective antidiabetic as well as for treating mild inflammations of the skin. Ham rind has been included in the German Pharmacopoeia since 1987.
Our ham bark comes from pruning wood. It is harvested and prepared in Reunion.
